Spielberg/Kirchberg bei Mattighofen, 07. September 2025 – Eastalent Racing experienced both highs and lows during their home race at the sixth round of the International GT Open at the Red Bull Ring. While the team of Peter Reicher delivered strong on-track performances, technical issues and tire problems ultimately prevented a top result on Sunday.

Podium Start to the Weekend

The team’s pace was evident early on in Friday’s free practice, where Christopher Haase and Simon Reicher placed the Audi R8 LMS evo II first and second. On Saturday, the duo translated that speed into a stellar race performance. After a determined charge through the field, Eastalent Racing crossed the line in third place – a result that briefly brought them back to the top of the championship standings.

“This was a fantastic team effort – the mechanics and engineers gave us a perfect car,” said Christopher Haase. “To stand on the podium in front of our home crowd was a very special moment.”

Setback Due to Tire Damage
Hopes of another strong result on Sunday were dashed by tire misfortune. A puncture in qualifying already set the team back, and the same problem struck again during the race. Despite another spirited fightback, Eastalent Racing was forced to settle for 18th place.

Looking Ahead

Despite the setbacks, Team Principal Peter Reicher remains confident: “We look back with mixed emotions. On one hand, we proved that we have the pace to fight for the championship. On the other, luck was not on our side this weekend. But we remain within striking distance and will continue to push hard.”

Driver Simon Reicher echoed the fighting spirit: “We invested everything into preparation, and we’ll go on full attack again in the remaining races in Barcelona and Monza. The Eastalent rocket will keep flying.”

Next Stop: Barcelona

The International GT Open heads to Barcelona in two weeks, before the season finale at Monza in mid-October, where Eastalent Racing will once again fight for top honors.
